Snow Removal Cost in Sheboygan: Per Visit vs. Seasonal Contract (2026–27)
Share
Quick answer: Residential snow plowing in Sheboygan County costs $60 to $160 per visit at our published prices, depending on driveway size — $85 for a typical 2-car driveway on a 2–4 inch snowfall. A seasonal contract for the same driveway is $1,105 flat. With about ten plowable snowfalls in an average winter, per visit costs less in most years; seasonal only comes out ahead past the 13th visit.
Most snow companies will not publish a number until you call. Ours are below, with the math behind them, so you can decide which plan fits your winter before the first flake falls.

How much does snow plowing cost per visit?
We price residential plowing by driveway size, because that is what actually takes time. Bigger snowfalls cost more because they take longer and often two passes. Here is our full published table:
| Driveway | Size | 2–4" snow | 4–8" snow | 8–12" snow | Seasonal (flat) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-car / short | up to ~400 sq ft | $60 | $70 | $85 | $780 |
| 2-car | ~400–800 sq ft | $85 | $100 | $120 | $1,105 |
| 3-car / extended | ~800–1,400 sq ft | $110 | $125 | $155 | $1,430 |
| Long or rural | ~1,400–2,500 sq ft | $160 | $185 | $225 | $2,080 |
| Extra long | 2,500+ sq ft | Measured on site | — | — | Fixed price in writing |
Under 2 inches we do not come out — it is not worth your money and it usually melts. Over 12 inches we price it on the day, because a storm like that is a different job.
What add-ons cost extra?
| Add-on | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Walks & steps | +$20 per visit | Front walk, porch steps and the path to the door, shoveled by hand on the same visit |
| Salt — driveway | $35 per application | Only when it earns it; never bundled, never prepaid |
| Salt — walks | $20 per application | Applied to walks and steps when ice is a real risk |
| Off-route driveways | +15% | Homes not on a street we already plow |
Salt is billed per application on purpose. An icy winter needs it often and a dry one barely at all, so folding it into a flat price would mean you pay for salt you never got. If you have pets or new plantings along the drive, tell us — there is more on protecting the lawn and beds from de-icers in our winter landscape guide, and our pet-safe ice melt guide covers which products are gentlest on paws and plants.
Per visit or seasonal: which is cheaper?
At our 2-inch residential trigger, a typical Sheboygan winter brings about ten plowable snowfalls. Light winters have been as low as six; heavy ones as high as fourteen. (Commercial lots plowed at a 1-inch trigger see more events — our commercial guide budgets for 15–25.) Here is what that means for a 2-car driveway at $85 per visit:
| Winter | Plowable snowfalls | Per-visit total | Seasonal | Cheaper plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light | 6 | $510 | $1,105 | Per visit, by $595 |
| Average | 10 | $850 | $1,105 | Per visit, by $255 |
| Heavy | 14 | $1,190 | $1,105 | Seasonal, by $85 |
Per-visit totals assume 2–4 inch storms; deeper snowfalls raise them, which narrows the gap. The seasonal price covers plowing up to a 15-visit cap — a winter busier than that would be beyond anything on record here, and we would talk before billing past it.
So why does anyone buy seasonal? Because it is a number that does not move. Some households would rather know the figure in October and stop thinking about it. That is a fair thing to pay for. We simply think you should know it is usually the more expensive choice, which is why our quote tool shows both.
What you get for the price
- Automatic at 2 inches. You do not call, text or check. Once it hits two inches, you are on the route.
- Overnight and through the storm. Routes run overnight so the driveway is open before work. A long storm can mean two passes rather than one giant dig-out.
- Walks the same visit. Not the next day.
- A log for every visit. Time, depth and materials, so the bill always matches what happened.
- Same crew year-round. The people who mow and edge your lawn in July already know where your curbs, drains and landscape beds are before the snow hides them.
- Insured & bonded. Ask any snow contractor for proof before you sign. Our hiring checklist covers what to ask.
What affects your price
Driveway size is the big one, and the satellite tool on our snow page lets you trace it so you are not guessing. Beyond that: whether a truck can reach the whole drive, whether there is somewhere to put the snow (a narrow drive between two houses is slower than one with a lawn on each side), and whether you are on a street we already plow. We confirm size on the first visit and adjust if we got it wrong, never the other way around.
Running a business, HOA, church or school lot? That is contract-priced after a walk-through. Our commercial snow removal cost guide covers how those bids are built.
When should you book?
October and November. Snow companies build routes before the season, and a good route is a full route. For winter 2026–27 we are taking 25 new residential driveways; a $100 deposit holds the spot and is credited to your first invoice. Once a route is full, it is full until spring.
Waiting for the first storm to call is the most expensive way to buy snow removal, because by then the reliable crews are booked and you are calling the ones who are not.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to plow a driveway in Sheboygan?
At our published prices, $60 per visit for a 1-car or short driveway, $85 for a 2-car, $110 for a 3-car or extended drive, and $160 for a long or rural driveway, on a 2–4 inch snowfall. Deeper snow costs more: 15% more at 4–8 inches and 40% more at 8–12 inches. Driveways over 2,500 sq ft are measured and priced in writing.
Is a seasonal snow removal contract worth it?
Usually not on price alone. With about ten plowable snowfalls in an average Sheboygan winter, paying per visit costs less in most years; a seasonal price only comes out ahead past roughly the 13th visit. Seasonal is worth it if you value one fixed number you know in October.
How many inches before snow plowing starts?
Our trigger is 2 inches. Once snow reaches 2 inches we come automatically, with no call needed. Under 2 inches it usually is not worth the cost and often melts on its own.
Does snow removal include salting?
Salt is a separate per-application charge: $35 for a driveway and $20 for walks. We apply it only when ice makes it worthwhile, so a dry winter costs you very little in salt and an icy one gets what it needs.
Do you shovel sidewalks and steps?
Yes. Walks and steps are a $20 per-visit add-on, shoveled by hand on the same visit as the plow, not the next day.
When should I sign up for snow removal?
October or November, before the first storm. Routes fill, and for 2026–27 we are adding 25 new residential driveways. A $100 deposit holds your spot and is credited to your first invoice.
